The Crocker is planning a 100,000-square-foot expansion, which will triple the current size of the Museum. The new wing, designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, will be on the west side of the existing buildings. Highlights of the new state-of-the-art Museum building include:
The expansion will enrich the institution by providing dedicated programming and exhibition spaces allowing greater flexibility in the Museum’s offerings to the public. With the support of Museum members and the community, the Crocker will be a world-class art Museum, befitting a world-class city. Architectural Plans The new building will provide a single entry point to the Museum from O Street, adjacent to the existing entrance. A 7,000-square-foot courtyard will extend from the new building’s reception area to the original Art Gallery building, allowing for a subtle transition from “new” to “old.” |
