Treasures, Curiosities and Secrets: The Crockers and the Gilded Age pays tribute to the Crocker Family who founded the Museum in 1885. More than 75 objects, including jewelry, gowns, china, furniture and personal letters, tell the stories of philanthropy, eccentricity and high style that made the Crockers the epitome of the Gilded Age. Also on view, Meadows and Mountains celebrates the art of William F. Jackson, Sacramento's leading painter from 1880 to 1936 and the first director of the Museum. From 12 to 3 p.m., all ages are invited to participate in the Crocker’s Second Saturday for Families hands-on art activity.
