Your membership is active one calendar year from the end of the month in which you join. For example, if you joined January 5, 2012, your membership would expire January 31, 2013.
The number of people admitted depends on your level of membership. The Individual level admits one adult; the Dual/Family level admits three adults and any children under 18; and the Associate, Contributor, and Benefactor levels admit four adults and any children under 18.
Each membership level has different guest benefits. In order for your guests to enjoy the free general admission privileges connected to your membership level, you (or the other cardholder) must be present.Guest passes are an exception. Members at the Contributor level and higher receive guest passes when joining or renewing. Each guest pass may be used for a one-time free admission during regular Museum hours, whether or not the member is present. Guest passes are not valid for special events or ticketed programs like concerts, films, lectures, etc. (Guest passes may be used for programs that are free with Museum admission, such as Thursdays 'til 9: Art Mix).
Guest passes have an expiration date and should be used before they expire. If you have a guest pass that does not have an expiration date, you may still redeem it.
Guest privileges vary depending on the type of event; please see your invitation for details.
The number of tickets you can purchase at the member price is equal to the number of guests your membership level admits. Additional guest tickets must be purchased at the nonmember price. For example, if you are at the Dual/Family level and bring three friends to a ticketed program, two of those guests can pay the member price. Please note that guest passes are not accepted for ticketed programs.
