Painting with Wool
Two Sundays, July 14 + 21
12:30 - 3:30 PM
Felted wool can be used to create "paintings" with rich textural possibilities. Learn both dry and wet felting techniques; blend pre-dyed wool to create your own colors using felting needles, carders, and a drum carder; gain skill in achieving special effects by adding different fibers such as silk thread and mohair; and learn how to mount your original wool painting to take home.

About the Instructor:
Jan Schubert is an early childhood educator of 23 years, whose interest in handwork and textiles began when she learned to knit at the age of seven. She was introduced to felting needles many years ago, a happy occurrence which precipitated the creation of many charming creatures, and gave her the confidence to write and illustrate a children's story, The Sun Seed.
