Exhibition Live! Kara Walker
Thursday, November 7
6 - 8 PM
This dynamic new program series brings exhibitions to life through wide-ranging performances and interactive opportunities inside the galleries. Join us inside the exhibition, Emancipating the Past: Kara Walker's Tales of Slavery and Power for a live performance of the African American Folktale "The People Could Fly" by Sons/Ancestors Players and music by the first-ever female Sammie nominee for Best Emcee, Century Got Bars. Hear from Associate Curator Diana L. Daniels and tell your stories in silhouette at an interactive art making activity.
Free for members and included with general admission for nonmembers.
Space is limited and reserving tickets in advance is recommended. The exhibition will only be open to ticketholders from 5:30 - 8 PM.
Reserve tickets now, at the Museum Admission Desk, or by calling 916.808.1182. Limited tickets may be available at the Admission Desk the day of the program.
