Festival of New American Music Presents: "Allégresse"
Sunday, November 10
Allégresse combines the virtuosic talents of three nationally recognized musicians from Kansas with careers that have taken them throughout North America, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia both as soloists and chamber musicians. Allégresse, the French word for joy, aptly depicts the graceful artistry of this inspiring trio. Annie Gnojek, Margaret Marco, and Ellen Bottorff formed this exciting ensemble to explore the rich and varied repertoire for flute, oboe, and piano. Their performance will showcase works by female composers. Presented in collaboration with the California State University, Sacramento 2013 Festival of New American Music, celebrating its 36th year. Before the Classical Concert, enjoy a docent-led Prelude Tour of The Sky is Falling: Paintings by Julie Heffernan. Space is limited and reserving tickets in advance is recommended.
Free for members and included with general admission for nonmembers.
