Class Locations
Due to construction for the Museum’s expansion, most Summer Art Classes for Children are held offsite. Unless noted, classes are held at the West Sacramento Civic Center Galleria. Classes marked with ►will be held at the Crocker Art Museum. Driving Directions are below and a map is available here.

From Capitol City Freeway (Business Loop 80):
1) Exit at the Jefferson Blvd. exit.
2) Proceed North on Jefferson Blvd.
3) Turn right onto West Capitol Avenue.
4) Make a U turn (from left lane) in front of the West Sacramento Civic Center, followed by a quick right into the Civic Center parking lot.

Mixed-Media Sculpture: Go Vertical!

Start with basic shapes, add your imagination, get inspired by the Crocker’s architecture and create sculptural artwork with wood, wire and found objects.

Drawing: Zany Characters

What makes a doodle a cartoon? Artist Bob Armstrong will show you how to develop zany characters and illustrate the passage of time in story panels. 

Painting: From City to Sea

Foaming seas and bustling city streets depicted in the Crocker’s collection inspire this painting class. Artist Sharon Bloom shows beginning art students how to capture restless waters and geometric buildings with the elements of art.
