Parking + Directions

Parking mapOn-street parking meters bordering the Museum and Crocker Park require quarters (free after 6 PM Monday-Saturday and free all day Sunday). A small parking lot is available on 2nd Street (Lot Y) and costs $1.50 per hour. A larger parking lot (Lot X) is located at the corner of 2nd and N Streets and is a $10 flat rate for all day parking (a $5 flat rate after 4 PM on weekdays and all day on weekends). Both parking lots are operated by the City of Sacramento and are enforced 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Parking for visitors with disabilities can be found in the City parking lots and at meters located on 2nd Street. Disabled Person Parking Placards do not receive free parking in the City parking lots.

Additional parking is available in nearby parking garages, located a short walk from the Museum:

Tower Bridge Garage (Front Street + Capitol Mall)

Parking is $1.50 each half hour. The daily maximum charge is $15. Enter the garage on Capitol Mall. Walk to the Museum by taking the Riverfront Promenade to the O Street Bridge. 

Downtown Plaza

Parking is $1.25 each half hour for the first two hours and $1.50 each additional half hour after the first two hours. The daily maximum charge is $15. There are multiple entrances on J and L Streets.

Old Sacramento Garage (2nd + I Streets)

Parking is $1.25 each half hour for the first two hours and $1.00 each additional half hour after the first two hours. The daily maximum charge is $13. Enter the garage on I Street. Walk to the Museum by taking the Riverfront Promenade to the O Street Bridge.

Bicycle

Bicycle racks are located near the after-hours studio entrance.

Light Rail and Bus

Sacramento Regional Transit stops within walking distance of the Crocker Art Museum. Regional Transit recommended bus routes are listed below. The nearest Light Rail stop is at 8th and O Streets. A basic fare is $2.50; a daily pass is $6.

Monday – Friday: 6, 11, 15, 30, 31, 34, 38, 51, 62, 86 & 88
Saturday: 15, 30, 34, 38, 51, 62, 86 & 88
Sundays & Holidays: 15, 30, 34, 38, 51, 86 & 88

Train

The Sacramento Valley Amtrak Station is located at 3rd and I Streets, approximately six blocks from the Museum. The Capitol Corridor route offers frequent travel from the Sacramento region to the Bay Area. The San Joaquin route connects Sacramento with the Central Valley.

Directions

The Crocker is located at 216 O Street in Downtown Sacramento and can be reached from several major freeways.

From the West - San Francisco, Davis, etc.

  • From I-80 continue on Business 80/Route 50 then follow the exit for I-5 toward Redding
  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street

From the East via I-80 - Auburn, Reno, Roseville, Carmichael, etc.

  • Take I-80 towards San Francisco 
  • Follow the exit to I-5 after passing Truxel Blvd.
  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street

From the East via Highway 50 - Placerville, etc.

  • Take Highway 50 toward San Francisco 
  • Follow the exit to I-5 North to Redding
  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street

From the South via Highway 99 - Elk Grove, Fresno, etc.

  • Take 99 to San Francisco turnoff (Route 50)
  • Follow 50, then take the exit for I-5 North to Redding
  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right onto O Street

From the South via I-5 – Lodi, Stockton, Modesto, etc.

  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street

 From the North via Highway 99 - Yuba City, Marysville, etc.

  • Take 99 South toward Sacramento. Highway 99 will merge into I-5
  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street

From the North via I-5 – Woodland, Chico, etc.

  • Take the J Street exit and turn right off the ramp on 3rd Street
  • Turn right on O Street
